Blog EntryWARNING TO NLEX DRIVERS!!!Dec 29, '07 3:36 PM
for everyone
it's 4am i just came from a trip up north... spent 2 days there and literally 24hours of it on the road with less than a total of 4 hours sleep...

anyway here's what i'd like to share...

--------------------
i was just about to reach the tollgate at the end of the north luzon expressway (nothbound)...
when from the side came an officer that flagged my car...

AL: good morning officer how may i help you?

ENFORCER: good morning sir... i'm sorry sir but it appears you have committed a violation...
your were caught overspeeding with a speed of 133kph

Al: hmmm there must be mistake sir (raising an eybrow and blankly looking at the dash board
 trying to recall the speed)

ENFORCER: no sir you were caught on video tape... and they reported that you were going at a speed of 133kph

naturally i argued...

Al: no sir i'm sure there was some mistake... pls try to see if your instruments are properly calibrated... or perhaps the other officer miss read it...

ENFORCER: .....  took a deep breath with the "here we go again" face... about to say something but so rudely interrupted

AL: as i was saying officer something must be wrong...

i was doing at least 188... (with a flash of a smile) am pretty much sure of that, since the instrument panel of this car is digital... see... frankly i like the old speedometers better...

ENFORCER: (smiling) haha sorry sir but i'll have to confiscate your license...

AL: not a problem sir here it is...

ENFORCER: thank you sir, you'll have to claim your DL at the East ave office... it will probably be there after the holidays... sorry but we have been pretty strict in implementing the speed limits due to the increase in accidents... but looking at your car i can see why it must be tempting to step on the gas...

AL: no need to apologize officer... i understand... as a matter of fact am quite happy you are doing your part to make the highways safer...

i only hope however that you can be consistent with the implementation and perhaps do more to in form motorists of your "strict" implementation... sorry again officer i just wanted to get my trip over with and get back home...

as well as to see if the "S" at the back was worth the premium

ENFORCER: how was it?!?

Al: worth every centavo!

good day officer and keep up the good work....

-----------------------

anyway guys be reminded that when on the NLEX try to maintain the 100kph speed limit...
if you do decide to go over though... dont forget to smile for the cameras!

seriously though... those laws are placed there for our safety... i just hope however that they do get to be consistent in implementing them... i find that in our country implementation is one of the weakest links...

guys better to be safe than sorry...

happy motoring!
